Established in 1993, The Law Offices of Jill M. Peters, LLC, specializes in matrimonial and family law. As founder & principal, Jill M. Peters, handles a variety of complex cases, including allocation of parental responsibilities for decision-making and parenting time (formerly known as “custody”), support, maintenance, valuing a family business, property disputes, and other related matters. Jill is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where she was a lead articles editor for the Loyola Consumer Law Journal. During law school, she interned with the Illinois Education Labor Relations Board. She was awarded a Public Interest Legal Internship (PILI) and worked on class action litigation for the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and she interned with the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago. After law school, Jill worked as an Assistant Public Guardian for the Cook County Public Guardian's office representing children from under-resourced communities. She then worked in private practice before opening her own firm in 1993. For more than 30 years, Jill has successfully litigated domestic relations matters against the most recognized matrimonial firms. Jill offers her clients excellent representation, highly effective negotiation, pretrial and trial practice and mediation skills.
